PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study for Ellington Drive in the Halsted Lane area to determine traffic speeds and daily volumes.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted PS # 2507357 expressing concerns over speeding on Ellington Drive in the Halsted Lane area.
DISCUSSION:
Ellington Drive is classified as a neighborhood residential roadway, and has a 25 mph speed limit. Ellington Drive has sidewalk on both sides as well as full curb and gutter.
Traffic counters on Ellington Drive revealed an ADT of 1,100 VPD. Speeds were found to average 24 mph, with a 85th percentile of 28 mph and a median of 24 mph.
This section of roadway does not qualify based on speeds.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact at this time.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends acceptance of traffic study.
