PURPOSE:
For scholarships in Seth Egger's name.
BACKGROUND:
The group organizers submitted for 2015 and it was relayed that the submittal needed to come in under an organized framework. Inquiries were made on collaborating with Aurora Central Catholic High School. The organizers chose to come in under the sponsorship of St. Paul Lutheran Church. In 2016, the proposed event was submitted as the Seth Egger Memorial Fund and a recommendation was made to look into tying in with Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley or similar institution for scholarship distribution.
DISCUSSION:
The event had 240 participate in 2016 and the organizers are expecting 280 people to participate this year and 25-30 volunteers to help. The sponsor organization is responsible for all costs associated with holding this proposed event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
City services will be needed from the Park & Recreation Division for use of Phillips Park streets, garbage bins, electric, etc. and the Aurora Police Department Traffic Control Division.
