A Parking Study for Barrington Road E. to the east of Spinnaker Drive. Ward 9, Alderman Bugg.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Barrington Road E. to the east of Spinnaker Drive to determine the necessity of installing more parking signage and/or markings.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted PS # 1833225 expressing concern with heavy parking during sporting events on the greens north of Barrington Dr. E.
DISCUSSION:
Barrington Road E. is classified as a Minor Collector and has a speed limit of 25 mph. Parking on the south side of the roadway is restricted with NO PARKING THIS SIDE signage. There is no Yellow curb marking on either side of the roadways.
The complaint stated vehicles were parking in front of fire hydrants and within crosswalks at the intersections. Accordingly,
1. Yellow curb markings at fire hydrants, and
2. NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER signage are recommended at the Barrington Road E. and Spinnaker Drive intersection, with the possible addition of Yellow curb.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations would be responsible for the installation of signage and curb markings.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installation of curb painting at fire hydrants, as well as NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER signage combined with yellow curb.
