PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study for the Grove Street and N. Kendall Street intersection to determine he warrants for a 4-way stop.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted PS # 1963558 requesting a Traffic Study for the Grove Street and N. Kendall Street intersection.
DISCUSSION:
Both roadways are neighborhood residential with speed limits of 25 mph. Street widths are a normal 29.5-ft Parking is unrestricted on either side of the roadways. The intersection has Stop signs on Grove Street, with N. Kendall Street having the right of way. The intersection has full Yellow Curb prohibiting vehicles not to park near the intersection.
Traffic counters on Grove Street revealed an ADT of 975 VPD. Speeds were found to be average 23 mph, with a 85th percentile of 29 mph and a median of 24 mph.
Traffic volumes and crash rates do not support installation of an all way stop.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact at this time.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends denial.
