TO: Mayor Thomas J. Weisner

FROM: Raymond Hull, Superintendent of Water and Sewer Maintenance

DATE: April 14, 2014

SUBJECT:
The purpose of the resolution is to reject all previous bids for the purchase of a six inch a trash pump for the Water and Sewer division.

PURPOSE:
Rejection of previous bids allows the Purchasing division to solicit new bids.

BACKGROUND:
Previous bids that were received came in above the budget.

DISCUSSION:
.A component to reduce operating noise levels was the reason for the higher cost. Modifications to the specifications have been made to bring the cost into the desired range.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
The modified unit will result in cost saving for the City. Ultimately the purchase of the six inch pump will result in the minimizing of damage to public roadways and any inconvenience resulting from flash flooding. The funding to purchase a trash pump is allocated in account 510-4063-511.74-99 of the 2014 budget

RECOMMENDATIONS:
I recommend that the Committee would adopt the resolution to reject all bids for the purchase of a six inch diesel trash pump for the Water and Sewer Division.
