2025 Special Service Area Property Tax Levies. (SSA #90)
PURPOSE:
To obtain the City Council's approval of the 2025 property tax levies for the special service areas (SSAs) established within the city.
BACKGROUND:
The city has established numerous SSAs within its corporate boundaries for a variety of purposes. Some of these SSAs are "active" and SSA property taxes are levied in support of their purposes. The remaining SSAs are "dormant." Generally, the city has established the dormant SSAs as a contingency to enable the city to undertake focused stormwater management projects should the need arise.
DISCUSSION:
Attached as Exhibit 1- SSA is a schedule summarizing the proposed 2025 property tax levies for the active SSAs.
1. SSA 63, Near West Side Lighting. The term of the SSA was 25 years and is completed.
2. SSA 65, Eastview Estates. The term of the SSA was 25 years and is completed.
3. SSA 66A, Foran Lane/New Haven. This levy is being increased by $100.
4. SSA 66B, Wet Side of Foran Lane. This levy is being increased by $10.
5. SSA 66C, North Foran Lane. This levy is being increased by $100.
6. SSA 66D, Northeast Foran Lane. This levy is being increased by $5.
7. SSA 90, Plum Street/Howard Avenue. This levy was extended on 1/14/2025 to recover the outstanding balance.

Not applicable.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
That the City Council approve the attached 2025 SSA property tax levies for the city's 9 active SSAs.
