A resolution approving the acceptance of a donation from Teinnovations in the amount of $360,000.00 worth of personal protective equipment for the City's temporary overnight shelter and local nonprofits to prevent the spread of disease this winter.
PURPOSE:
Teinnovations donated approximately $360,000.00 worth of personal protective equipment (PPE) to the City, to go towards shielding residents of the City's temporary overnight warming center and local nonprofits from the spread of disease this winter.
BACKGROUND:
Mayor John Laesch worked with Daniel Tein, founder of Teinnovations to obtain the contribution of $360,000.00 worth of PPE to go towards the temporary overnight warming center and local nonprofits to shield from the spread of disease this winter. Teinnovations is an innovative, best-in-class packaging material and solutions provider located at 700 N. Commerce Street. Teinnovations has many years of experience in applied packaging technology and food science to provide solutions for projects that consist of packaging material and its application and service. A ceremony took place on December 11, 2025, at Teinnovations' global headquarters.
DISCUSSION:
The donation by Teinnovations amounts to $360,000.00 worth of PPE equipment which includes over 165,000 face shields, approximately 108 gallons of anti-septic hand sanitizer, 1,000 boxes of large vinyl exam gloves and approximately 3,000 KN95 respirators. This donation of PPE will be utilized at the City's temporary overnight warming center at 712 S. River Street as well as non-profits that partner with the city, such as Hesed House to help further distribute the PPE.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
This donation of $360,000.00 worth of PPE equipment will assist the city in providing a slow to the spread of disease this winter.
