A Parking Study for Savannah Drive between Mesa Lane and Solitude Lane. Ward 1, Alderman Bohman.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Savannah Drive between Mesa Lane and Solitude Lane to examine installing new Parking Restrictions.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 122618 requesting an OVERNIGHT PARKING BAN.
DISCUSSION:
The anonymous Resident could not be contacted to clarify their request. Savannah Drive is only 27- to 27.5-ft wide, the roadway can become narrow for two cars to pass comfortably when parking is on both sides of the roadway.
Recommend that Home Owners Association be contacted for discussion parking restrictions.
In general the City limits overnight parking restrictions to the CBD (with some exceptions). The preferred alternative, if supported by the Homeowners Association would be a no parking anytime on one side of the street.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact based on no action.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Recommend denial of overnight parking ban and that the Home Owners Association be contacted for discussion of parking alternatives.
