A resolution Reappointing Ed Barsotti, Charlie Zine and Doug Johnson to the Aurora Bicycle, Pedestrian and Transit Advisory Board.
DISCUSSION:
The Aurora Bicycle, Pedestrian and Transit Advisory Board was formed in 2016, the formation of the committee is part of the city's Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. The seven (7) member board will be tasked with overseeing the continued implementation and updates of the plan as needed.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the proposed candidate of the Aurora Bicycle, Pedestrian and Transit Advisory Board be approved.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, currently there are expired terms on the board; and
WHEREAS, it is the Mayor's desire that the recommended candidates be appointed to said Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, hereby approve the appointment of Ed Barsotti, Aurora, IL, Charlie Zine, Aurora, IL and Doug Johnson, Aurora, IL to the Aurora Bicycle, Pedestrian and Transit Advisory Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the terms of Ed Barsotti, Charlie Zine and Doug Johnson shall expire on July 30, 2022, however, in any event, they shall continue to serve until their respective replacements have been approved by the Council.
