PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study for Garfield Avenue in the 1000 block to determine traffic speeds.  
 
BACKGROUND:
An E-mail request (1/20/17) was submitted expressing residents' concerns over speeding on Garfield Avenue in the Randall Road to Lancaster Avenue area.  
 
DISCUSSION:
Garfield Avenue is classified as a residential roadway with a set speed limit of 25 mph.  It has a dashed yellow centerline and is a wide 36-ft in width.  
 
Traffic counters on Garfield Avenue revealed an ADT of 1,700 VPD.  Speeds were found to average 28 mph, with a 85th percentile of 32 mph and a median of 28 mph.
 
Traffic calming minimums speeds were not met.   
 
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact.  
 
RECOMMENDATIONS:
 Staff recommends acceptance of traffic study.
