Sri Jagannath Society of Greater Chicago Chariot Festival, Sunday June 29, 2014 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

PURPOSE:
A religious ceremony will be held indoors at the Bharat Sevasharm Sangh Temple at 522 Garfield Avenue and culminates in a chariot journey around the block.
BACKGROUND:
This is the sixth year of the proposed event that had 150 participants last year and is expecting 200 participants this year and utilization of 25 staff/volunteers.
DISCUSSION:
The organizers are responsible for all costs associated with holding the proposed event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
The event organizers are requesting Streets Maintenance drop off four barricades on the Friday before the proposed event. The staff/volunteers would set the barricades up just minutes prior to the walk around the block and they would remove the barricades as they have cleared each street, expecting the street closures duration to be 20-30 minutes.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Please forward to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
