A Parking Study for the Bannister Lane and Kautz Road intersection. Ward 7, Alderman Hart-Burns.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for the Bannister Lane and Kautz Road intersection to determine need for parking restrictions.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted PS # 1939268 requesting Yellow Curb and signage NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER for the intersection of Bannister Lane and Kautz Road.
DISCUSSION:
The Bannister Lane and Kautz Road intersection is a "T" intersection, with Bannister Lane ending at Kautz Road. Both roadways have curb and gutter, as well as sidewalks.
The intersection was found to not have any Yellow Curb or Parking signage. Resident was concerned with vehicles parking in the intersection cross walk as well as too close to the corner. An inspection found a vehicle parked as the Resident had described (see photo). Suggest Yellow Curb be installed on the Bannister-Kautz junction as well as NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER signage.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations would be responsible for installing the Yellow Curb and Signage.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installation of Yellow Curb and NO PARKING HERE TO CORNER signage.
