SUBJECT:
Resolution Authorizing the Purchase of One (1) 2016 Wheeled Coach, Ford F-450 Type I Ambulance for the Amount of $210,137.00 from Fire Service Inc

PURPOSE:
To purchase one (1) 2016 Wheeled Coach, Ford F-450 Type I ambulance, from Fire Service Inc. to replace a 2008 ambulance that has reached the end of its service life as recommended by Equipment Services.

BACKGROUND:
The City of Aurora Equipment Services Department has provided AFD with an equipment replacement schedule to maintain safe, effective and dependable ambulances to provide the citizens of Aurora with a high level of Emergency Medical Services. This ambulance purchase will help maintain that high level of service and meet the equipment replacement schedule.

That sales contract allows the City of Aurora the option to purchase additional units at a discount to current pricing.

We request the ability to exercise this right and purchase an additional ambulance based on that language. Funds are available in the 2016 SHAPE fund account # 255-3033-422.75-30 for this purchase.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
Providing a high level of Emergency Medical Service delivery requires a safe and dependable fleet of ambulances to meet this objective. Replacing an older ambulance with a new model, will reduce maintenance and repair costs and allow for new technology and space to continue to provide high quality service.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
That the finance Committee accept the tag on bid from Fire Service Inc. to purc...
