PURPOSE:
The Nancy Young Elementary School PTA is requesting approval of its application to hold the Nancy Young Dolphin Dash 5K and 1 mile run walk event to raise money for additional educational programs and resources for Nancy Young Elementary School.
BACKGROUND:
This is the 8th year that the organizer is proposing to hold this event and is expecting 600 people to participate and 50 staff/volunteers to help.
DISCUSSION:
The Nancy Young Elementary School and its PTA is responsible for all costs associated with holding this event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
City services are needed from the Police Department Traffic Control Division, Fire Department Paramedics, Street Maintenance Division for barricades, and Downtown Services Division for trash bins.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Please forward to the Government Operations Committee for approval.
