PURPOSE:
The Wheatlands Elementary School PTA is requesting permission to conduct a 5K Run/Walk as a fundraiser for the school.
BACKGROUND:
The event had 450 participants in 2013. In this proposed 5th year of the event in 2014, event organizers are expecting 400 people to take part and plan to utilize 60 volunteers.
DISCUSSION:
The organizers are responsible for all costs associated with holding this event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
The event organizers will need services from the Aurora Police Department Traffic Division and standby services from the Aurora Fire Department Paramedics.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Please forward to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
