A Parking Study for S. Evanslawn Avenue in the 200 block. Ward 5, Alderman Franco.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for the curb space between 222 and 230 S. Evanslawn Avenue.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted PS # 2511532 requesting that parking be prohibited on the east side between 222 and 230 S. Evanslawn Avenue.
DISCUSSION:
The "curb" space between 222 and 230 S. Evanslawn Avenue is barely large enough to fit a regular vehicle (see photo), and should not be considered a valid place to park. Evanslawn has no curb and gutter here, and no sidewalk.
It is currently illegal by ordinance to park in this area. Generally in situations like this the City with paint curb. However, there is no curb.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Street Division would have to install a no parking sign.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends approval of No Parking Any Time sign.
