Permission to allow 34th Street Films, an independent film company based in Aurora to film scenes utilizing Middle Avenue between Cross and Gale on four separate occasions between October 20th and 30th.

PURPOSE:
Organizers are requesting the use of Middle Avenue between Cross and Gale on four evenings in October between the 20th and 30th between the hours of 4:00 pm and 1:00 am.
BACKGROUND:
34th Street Films is shooting an Urban Action Feature Film addressing the issues of gun, drug, and gang violence. The actual film is projected to depict Chicago and will in no way represent Aurora. The film company chose Aurora as a safe alternative to shooting in Chicago.
The film is being used as a platform to help youth recognize alternatives to these situations, to stand up for what you believe in and do what is right. Its focus is to provoke a positive directive to dealing with gang violence.
The project will be submitted to various film festivals and sent to distributors for review. 34th Street Films has begun filming scenes at Our Savior Lutheran Church and is including many Aurora youth and residents in the film
DISCUSSION:
Requesting the approval of 34th Street Films to film on location at Middle Avenue. There are no direct costs associated with this project.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Organizers have had discussions with Commander Ziman on the use of "prop" weapons and on days filming is to take place APD will include notification at their In Service. 34th Street films will contact APD in advance to notify them of filming days. Additional City services requested are minimal.
