SUBJECT:
A Resolution to Award the 2018 Downtown Sidewalk Projects to Geneva Construction Company

PURPOSE:
To award the Construction Contract to complete various concrete repairs to sidewalks and curbs in the Central Business District.

BACKGROUND:
Every year the city would retain contractors to make small repairs throughout the downtown area. In order to obtain better unit prices, the city has placed this proposal out for public bidding.

DISCUSSION:
Bids were opened and publicly read on April 18, 2018. The bid tabulation for the 7 responsive bids received is attached as Exhibit A. The lowest responsible bid was submitted by Geneva Construction Company of Aurora, IL in the amount of $55,895.10 which is nearly 8% less than the Engineer's Estimate.

The 2018 City Budget provides funds for this project in the following accounts:

IMPACT STATEMENT:
