A Parking Study for installing an on-street handicap parking space on Century Lane. Ward 7, Alderman Hart-Burns.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for installing an on-street handicap parking space for 1021 Century Lane.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted PS # 2614687 requesting an on-street handicap parking space in front of 1021 Century Lane.
DISCUSSION:
Century Lane is No Outlet roadway classified as neighborhood residential. The Speed Limit is 25 mph. Road width is a slim 28.5-ft. On-street parking is in short supply with each duplex having only on-street space to share, somehow. Each residence also has a one lane drive approach and a lengthy driveway. The roadway has curb and gutter on each side, as well as a sidewalk.
Staff had previously installed a No Parking anytime immediately west of the requested address. In addition, the space between driveways immediately to the east is too short for parking by ordinance. This allows ample space for a bus stop and pick up of an individual.
Staff does not recommend any further restrictions in parking.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No action at this time.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends denial.
