Resolution Establishing the Maximum Number of City of Aurora Liquor Licenses by Class
PURPOSE:
To increase the number of Class K - Catering licenses by one (1) license, increasing the total maximum number of Class K to 5.
BACKGROUND:
This request is presented in accordance with the 2011 amendment to the City's Liquor Ordinance, specifically Section 6-9(a), which charges the City Council with the authority to determine the number of licenses available in each classification.
DISCUSSION:
Sodexo America, LLC, doing business as Aurora University's Welcome Center, 347 S. Gladstone Ave., Aurora, submitted a liquor license application for the purpose of providing alcoholic beverages during catered events on campus. Beverages would be only for consumption on the premises where provided, only in conjunction with catered events and not for resale in any form.
Attached is the application submitted for your consideration. If approved, this resolution would increase the number of allowable liquor licenses as indicated in the accompanying Exhibit A to allow for the issuance of the license by the Commissioner.
