A Resolution authorizing the appointment of Tracy J. Duran, John Fusek, Katie Garrett, Gina Moga and the reappointment of Gretchen Timm to the Aurora Area Convention Visitors Bureau.
PURPOSE:

BACKGROUND:
Staggered Terms: The dates are intentionally staggered to ensure board continuity and prevent all terms from expiring at the same time.
Future Terms: Following this initial "start-up" period, all members will be appointed for standard 3-year terms.
DISCUSSION:
The City of Aurora has one (1) municipal representative and ten (10) at-large appointments on the board. The nominees for the at-large candidates are as follows:
Tracy J. Duran - non-resident - term expires in 2029
John Fusek - resident of ward 7- term expires in 2028
Katie Garrett - Representative for the Fox Valley Park District - term expires in 2029
Gina Moga - resident of ward 5- term expires in 2028
Gretchen Timm - non-resident- term expires in 2029

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
