License Agreement and Temporary Extension of Liquor License for Ballydoyle Irish Pub
PURPOSE:
Ballydoyle Irish Pub is interested in a pilot program whereby they would have outdoor seating, liquor service and entertainment in the summer months in the Tivoli Plaza outdoor area.
BACKGROUND:
Outdoor seating and entertainment areas have become more and more popular, and the City receives more inquiries as the popularity rises of this trend. Ballydoyle is uniquely situated, with its already existing outdoor deck area and the open areas of Tivoli Plaza immediately adjacent thereto. The City is interested in piloting this idea in the summer months to ascertain the viability of this type of outdoor seating, liquor service and entertainment venue.
DISCUSSION:
First and foremost, the attached License Agreement identifies and emphasizes that Ballydoyle must be in compliance with all applicable ordinances and laws at all times while operating this pilot program. The hours of operation would be 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. Approved planters, temporary fencing and other approved barriers would be utilized to cordon-off the area of the Plaza adjacent to Ballydoyle that would be utilized by them for this pilot program. A site plan and depiction of the area to be used is attached to the License Agreement. Ballydoyle will serve food in this area, provide live entertainment, and serve liquor to seated patrons at tables. The City will adjudge how well this works for this summer, then make decisions about future such endeavors based upon the efficacy of this pilot program.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Other than some prudent additional police patrol of this outdoor area, no extra impacts upon the City or its services is expected
