SUBJECT:
Resolution to accept the low bid from Advantage Chevrolet for two cargo vans in the amount of $47,912.22 for the Police Patrol and Water Meter Divisions.

PURPOSE:
The Police Patrol and Water Meter Divisions operate cargo vans. Both divisions have been approved in the 2017 budget replacement vans that meet the replacement criteria for the respected class of vehicles

BACKGROUND:
The City solicited bids from area GMC and Chevrolet dealers. Coffman Truck Sales and Advantage Chevrolet were the two that submitted bids. Advantage, located at 9510 Joliet Road in Hodgkins, Illinois provided the low bid for both vans; Police 3500 van $23,821.91 and the Water Meter 2500 van $24,090.31 for a total of $47,912.22.

DISCUSSION:
The purchase of these Chevrolet vans will assure that the both the Police Patrol and Water Meter Divisions have a reliable fleet.

Account 255-3536-421-6620 has $29,000 reserved to fund the purchase of a cargo van for the Police and account 510-4062-511-6620 has $30,000 reserved to fund the purchase of a cargo van for the Water Meter Division.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
There is no impact on other divisions or City services.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
That City Council approves a resolution to accept the low bid from Advantage Chevrolet for two cargo vans in the amount of $47,912.22 for the Police Patrol and Water Meter Divisions.
