SUBJECT:
Resolution authorizing payment to Belfor USA Group for services performed at the DSC building after the watermain break.

PURPOSE:
Staff is requesting authorization to pay Belfor for the services they performed to clean up the DSC building after the watermain break from proceeds received directly to the City of Aurora from the insurance company.

BACKGROUND:
The City contracted with Belfor USA Group starting in 2017 for a Red Alert Service Agreement to provide emergency response, storm mitigation, reconstruction services in response to storm, fire, natural disaster or related insured losses.

DISCUSSION:
On May 7, 2021 the city experienced a watermain break directly in front of the Development Services building located at 77 S. Broadway, Aurora. The water flooded the first floor and caused significant damage to the basement level. Belfor was called out to clean up the building and get staff back into the office.

The City received the check from the insurance company directly and now needs to issue the payment to Belfor for their completed services.

The invoice in the amount of $111,753.98 will be paid from 601-0000-410.40-78 (DNTN16).

IMPACT STATEMENT:
There is not an impact to the City.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recomends approval of this resolution to payment can be issued to Belfor.
