PURPOSE:
To investigate speeding concerns on Fairmont Avenue between Grand Ridge Circle and Arcadia Court.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 98899 expressing concern regarding vehicle speeds on Fairmont Avenue between Grand Ridge Circle and Arcadia Court.
DISCUSSION:
A Traffic Study for Speeds and Volume was performed for one week in early September 2014. Speeds in both directions registered: 22 mph for Mean and Median in both eastbound and westbound directions; and 27 mph for the 85th percentile in both directions. Speed Limit on this Residential Street is the City Standard of 25 mph. Traffic Volumes average approximately 300 vpd.
This segment of roadway does not qualify for traffic calming based on speeds and volume.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact at this time.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends the Traffic Study be approved.
