SUBJECT:
A Resolution Authorizing the Appointment of Herman Beneke as the Director of Building and Permits.

PURPOSE:
To obtain authorization to appoint Herman Beneke as the Director of Building and Permits.

BACKGROUND:
Herman Beneke has been with the City of Aurora since July of 2000, serving in several positions within the division. He has been the Assistant Director of Building and Permits for nearly twelve years. Herman has a Bachelor's of Science in Architecture degree from the Lawrence Technical Institute and has been a registered Architect since 1992. Additionally, Herman holds the International Code Council credentialing as a Certified Building Official.

DISCUSSION:
Herman has been an outstanding employee and has worked tirelessly on major projects such as the Aurora Premium Outlet Mall. Due to the position being vacated recently, Herman is filling the role on an interim basis. In accordance with the City of Aurora Code of Ordinances, the council must consent to the appointment of the Director of Building and Permits as a Division head.
