SUBJECT:title

A Parking Study for Albany Court.  Ward 9, Alderman Bugg.

body

PURPOSE:

A Parking Study for Albany Court to determine if a parking restriction is needed.

BACKGROUND:

Alderman received resident complaint regarding vehicles parking along cul de sac median circle island, making it difficult for transport vehicle access involving a special needs child. Resident is requesting No Parking signage next to the median circle island.

DISCUSSION:

Albany Court is classified as a residential roadway, 26 feet in width, with a 25 mph speed limit. There is a circle shaped median island which vehicles park adjacent to.  Parked vehicles along the circle island could hinder access for emergency vehicles, delivery trucks, trash pickup and transport vehicle for special needs child.

IMPACT STATEMENT:

Street Department resources.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Staff recommends installing NO PARKING signage adjacent to the median island.
