Requesting approval for the Friends of LaSalle Street Historic Auto Row to stage the annual Friends of LaSalle Street Auto Row Car Show on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

PURPOSE:
This purpose is to raise awareness of the historic nature of the block, attract new business and honor our local Veterans.
BACKGROUND:
This is the 9th year the Friends of LaSalle Street have coordinated this event.
DISCUSSION:
All proceeds will be used to enhance LaSalle Street.
A COI will be provided by the City of Aurora as part of a Neighborhood Festival Funding Grant.
The event organizers are responsible for notifying neighboring property owners of the street closure two weeks prior to the event and obtain permission for the use of parking lots owned by Fifth Third and PNC Banks (or property owners). They will also place "No Parking" signage along the street the Saturday afternoon prior.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Streets to be blocked are: LaSalle from Downer to Clark. A map of the area is included as an attachment. The Street Department will put together a barricade and detour package.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I recommend the proposed event be forwarded to the Government Operations Committee for review and approval.
