SUBJECT:title
A Traffic Study for the intersections of Ridge Avenue and Trafalgar Lane. Ward 7, Alderman Hart-Burns
body
PURPOSE:
To investigate appropriate signage at the intersections of Ridge Avenue and Trafalgar Lane.
BACKGROUND:
A resident submitted ACR 95538 expressing concern for speeding at a School Bus Stop at one of the intersections of Ridge Avenue and Trafalgar Lane.
DISCUSSION:
Existing conditions include crosswalks across both Ridge Road and Trafalgar Lane. A speed feedback sign was recently installed approximately 200-feet west of the intersection. There is no current stop signage on Ridge Road or Trafalgar Lane
Staff recommends supplementing crosswalk with pedestrian crossing signs for Ridge Road, adding a 25MPH speed limit sign to the speed feedback sign, and a stop sign for the northbound approach of Trafalgar Lane to Ridge Road.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations will be required to install signage.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends supplementing crosswalk with pedestrian crossing signs for Ridge Road, adding a 25MPH speed limit sign to the speed feedback sign, and a stop sign for the northbound approach of Trafalgar Lane to Ridge Road.
