PURPOSE:
East Aurora High School is requesting permission to hold its annual homecoming parade as one of its weeklong activities celebrating homecoming.
BACKGROUND:
East Aurora High School has held its annual homecoming parade for many years in streets nearby to the school.
DISCUSSION:
East Aurora High School is expecting 400 people to participate this year and 15 staff to help. The parade route begins at the high school and goes east on Fifth Ave to Smith St, north on Smith St to 4th Ave, west on 4th Ave to S. Union St, south on S. Union St to Fifth Ave, and back to the high school. East Aurora High School is responsible for all costs associated with holding this proposed event.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
City services will be needed from the Aurora Police Department Traffic Control Division and the Street Maintenance Division for barricades.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Please forward to the Government Operations Committee for approval.
