A Traffic Study for Conifer Court by Evergreen Lane. Ward 10, Alderman Johnson.
body
PURPOSE:
A Traffic Study for Conifer Court by Evergreen Lane to evaluate eligibility for traffic calming.
BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted ACR Case ID 118933 expressing concern about traffic speeds at the intersection of Conifer Court and Evergreen Lane and requested CHILDREN AT PLAY signage.
DISCUSSION:
The City has stopped installing CHILDREN AT PLAY signage approximately 10 years ago based on State and Federal guidance.
However, when these request come in staff evaluates the roadway for traffic calming eligibility. The ADT for Evergreen Lane is about 120 vpd. The Average Speed is 20 mph, with the 85th Percentile Speed of 24 mph. These speeds and volumes do not qualify for Traffic Calming.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No action.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends denial.
