A Resolution reappointing Patricia Holt, Joseph Grisson, Ricky Rodgers, Deborah Goss-Johnson, Telenae Williams Reid, Avis Miller, Toshia Moss, Jacquelyn Spires and Keith Gerald to the Aurora African American Heritage Advisory Board.
DISCUSSION:
The Aurora African American Heritage Advisory Board (AAHAB) is a non-partisan, community-based, fifteen (15) member advisory board that supports and participates in activities that promote a deeper understanding of the African American community. In addition to supporting community-wide events in Aurora, the AAHAB also hosts a yearly scholarship dinner.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the City Council approve the suggested reappointments to the Aurora African American Heritage Advisory Board.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, there were expired terms on the Aurora African American Heritage Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, it is the Mayor's desire that the recommended candidates be reappointed to said board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, hereby approve the appointments of Patricia Holt, Aurora, IL, Joseph Grisson, Aurora, IL, Ricky Rodgers, Aur...
