SUBJECT:title
A Parking Study for the alley entrance beside 728 Fourth Street.  Ward 3, Alderman Mesiacos.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for the alley entrance beside 728 Fourth Street to determine the need for parking regulation signage.

BACKGROUND:
A Resident submitted PS # 2623759 expressing concern that vehicles are parking too close to the alley entrance way.

DISCUSSION:
S. Fourth Street is classified as a Minor Collector, but with a speed limit of 25 mph.  There is a dashed yellow centerline, and parking is prohibited on the west side of the roadway.  The width is 29.5-ft.  Both sides have curb and gutter, as well as sidewalks.  The paved alley is 12-ft in width.

No Parking Here To Corner signage for the alley entrance would remind vehicles that this entrance is for an alley, not a drive approach.

IMPACT STATEMENT:
Operations would be responsible for installing the signage.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends installation of No Parking Here To Corner signage to mark the ally entrance on both sides.
