A Parking Study for Lansdale Street in the 2700 block. Ward 9, Alderman Bugg.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Lansdale Street in the 2700 block near the intersection of Providence Avenue.
BACKGROUND:
Alderman submitted PS # 3402817, residents complaining about vehicles parking in front of drive approaches, requesting No Stopping, Standing or Parking, 8AM to 4PM During School Session signage.
DISCUSSION:
Lansdale Street is classified as a residential roadway, 26 feet in width, with a 25 mph speed limit. Vehicles were observed parking in front of the 2788 and 2796 Lansdale Street driveways. Parking/Standing vehicles on Lansdale Street near Providence Avenue coincide with the Homestead Elementary arrival and dismissal periods. Installation of No Stopping, Standing or Parking, 8AM to 4PM During School Session signage for a few addresses may result in the migration of the issue. We feel random, selective enforcement by APD, to discourage vehicles from blocking driveways, trash pickup and mailboxes may prove to be a better solution.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
APD resources.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff recommends random, selective enforcement by APD, to discourage vehicles from blocking driveways, trash pickup and mailboxes, for the 2700 block of Lansdale Street.
