A Parking Study for Lehnertz Avenue in the 900 block. Ward 1, Alderman Bohman.
body
PURPOSE:
A Parking Study for Lehnertz Avenue in the 900 block to determine the accessibility of Fire Trucks emerging from Aurora Fire Station 4.
BACKGROUND:
A resident submitted PS # 3401883 expressing concern for Fire Trucks through Lehnertz Avenue. Resident was concerned that allowing parking on both sides of Lehnertz Avenue would impede the free flow of Fire Trucks. The resident is also concerned that one resident, in particular, is parking their cars on both sides of the street.
DISCUSSION:
Lehnertz Avenue is classified as a residential roadway, with a 25 mph speed limit. It has the city standard 29.5' width.
Discussions with supervisors of Fire Station 4 revealed no significant problem with parking on both sides of Lehnertz that would require changes.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
No impact.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Staff does not recommend restrictions to existing parking.
