SUBJECT:
A resolution appointing Fran Caffee and reappointing Caryl Riley and John O'Neill to "Sustainable Aurora" (The Mayors Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board).
DISCUSSION:
In 2014, "Sustainable Aurora" (The Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board) was formed to act as any advisory body to the Mayor and City Council. The thirteen (13) member board advises the Mayor and City Council on the development or initiation of programs or actions that will enhance, develop and create sustainable practices within the City of Aurora. There is currently a vacancy on the board.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the City Council approve the appointment of Fran Caffee and the reappointments of Caryl Riley and John O'Neill to "Sustainable Aurora" (The Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board).

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, a vacancy exists on "Sustainable Aurora" (The Mayors Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board) and there are two expired terms; and
WHEREAS, it is the Mayor's desire that Fran Caffee be appointed and Caryl Riley and John O'Neill be reappointed to said board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, hereby approve the appointment of Fran Caffee, Aurora, IL and the reappointments of Caryl Riley, Aurora, IL and John O'Neill, Aurora, IL to "Sustainable Aurora" (The Mayors Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the terms of Fran Caffee, Caryl Riley and John O'Neill shall expire on May 31, 2018; however, in any event, the appointees shall serve until their respective replacements have been approved by the Council.
