Requesting approval for Calvary Temple Church to have a Music Festival event on Sunday, July 1, 2018.
PURPOSE:
Calvary Church, located at 9S200 State Rt. 59, will be holding their yearly Festival event on Sunday, July 1, 2018. As part of this festival, the Calvary Church would like to have live musical entertainment, which requires City Council approval prior to the issuance of a permit.
BACKGROUND:
This will be Calvary's 51st Anniversary celebration which will attract over 10,000 patrons from the surrounding areas. The event includes a worship service, face painting, games for children, various vendors, and live music.
DISCUSSION:
Our office has received a completed application for this event, performance bond, and certificates of completion of Crowd Management training Courses, an assembly operational permit, and an inspection of the site will be conducted prior to the event.
As in previous years, the event will take place in the parking lot of the church at 9s200 Il State Route 59, Naperville, IL 60564. The hours of operation for the Music Festival will be from 3:00 p.m.to 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 1, 2018.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, Calvary Temple Church, will be holding their 51st Anniversary Festival Celebration on Sunday, July 1st, 2018 from 3:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and, in conjunction with this festival, will be having live music as part of said event; and
WHEREAS, the organizers of this event are working with the City Clerk's office to coordinate said event and have applied for a Music Festival permit; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Aurora Code Section 8-200, approval of the City Council is required for the issuance of such permits.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, as follows: that a Music Festival permit be issued to Calvary Temple Church for Sunday, July 1st, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
