A Resolution appointing Nelson Santos and reappointing Guy Lieser, Scott Fank and Jim Armbruster to the Aurora Municipal Airport Advisory Board.
DISCUSSION:
The Aurora Municipal Airport Advisory Board is a thirteen (13) member board made up of representatives appointed by the Mayor and Aurora City Council, the Kane County Board Chair, the Village of Sugar Grove, the Sugar Grove Township and the Sugar Grove Fire Protection District. The board is tasked with making recommendations regarding potential sources of revenue, facilities and services and the general welfare of the airport to name a few.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the City Council approve the appointment of Nelson Santos and the reappointments of Guy Lieser, Scott Fank and Jim Armbruster to the Aurora Municipal Airport Advisory Board.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, there are vacancies and expired terms on said board; and
WHEREAS, it is the Mayor's desire that said candidates be appointed and reappointed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, hereby approve the appointment of Nelson Santos, Naperville, IL, and the reappointments of Guy Lieser, Aurora, IL, Scott Fank, Sugar Grove, IL, and Jim Armbruster, Aurora, IL to the Aurora Municipal Airport Advisory Board.
BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED that the term of Guy Lieser shall expire on October 31, 2020, the term of Scott Fank shall expire on October 31, 2021, and the terms of Nelson Santos and Jim Armbruster shall expire on October 31, 2022, however, in any event, they shall continue to serve until their respective replacements have been approved by the Council.
