Resolution Authorizing the Director of Purchasing to purchase 4 Club Car Carryall 502 Gasoline Utility Vehicles for the amount of $51,280 from Nadler Golf Car Sales through Sourcewell Purchasing Cooperative.
PURPOSE:
To replace 4 Club Car Carryall II turf utility vehicles that are 20+ years old with new 2023 Club Car 502 turf utility vehicles. These turf utility vehicles are used in providing playing conditions on the golf course in addition to transporting staff around to complete daily tasks.
BACKGROUND:
Turf utility vehicles are instrumental in providing golf course playing conditions for our customers in addition to transporting staff safely around the golf course to perform daily tasks. Our current turf utility vehicles that are 2001-2003 models are in need of replacement.
DISCUSSION:
I would like to replace our existing Club Car Carryall II vehicles with the newer Carryall 502 model. The Club Car Carryall vehicle has proven to be a great fit for our needs on the golf course with exceptional local service. This purchase of the 4 Club Car Carryall 502 Utility Vehicles would be made from Nadler Golf Car Sales through the Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Program Contract #122220-CCR. Nadler Golf Car Sales has been in business for 59 years and located in the City of Aurora. The cost to replace 4 turf utility vehicles is $51,280 and funds are budgeted in account 550-4442-451-63.51.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
With our current turf utility vehicles being 20 years old, they have become unreliable in our operation in providing golf course conditions expected by our customers. They are also starting to not provide a safe mode of transportation around the golf course for staff while performing their daily tasks.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
I request the proposed resolution be adopted for the Director of Purchasing to purchase 4 Club Car Carryall 502 Utility Vehicles for the price of $51,280 form Nadler Golf Car Sale through Sourcewell Purchasing Program Contract #122220-CCR."

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, , Phillips Park Golf Course currently has 4 turf utility vehicles that are 20+ years old that need to be replaced; and
WHEREAS, these proposed Carryall 502 Turf Utility Vehicles will be purchased through SourceWell Purchasing Cooperative Program with contract #122220-CCR; and
WHEREAS, Nadler Golf Car Sales Inc. located at 2700 N. Farnsworth Ave Aurora, IL 60502, is the vendor suppling the Carryall 502 Turf Utility Vehicles for purchase.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, as follows: the City Council approves the resolution authorizing the purchase of 4 Club Car gasoline powered model Carryall 502 turf Utility Vehicles not to exceed the amount of $51,280 from Nadler Golf Car Sales and the Director of Purchasing to issue the necessary orders.
