I am forwarding to you a resolution which will appoint four additional members of "Sustainable Aurora" (The Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board).

A Resolution Appointing Mavis Bates, Jason Bielawski, Christine Vickers, Rick Leos to "Sustainable Aurora" (The Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board).

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, "Sustainable Aurora" (The Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board) is newly established and in need of members; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, hereby approve the appointments of Mavis Bates, Aurora, IL, Jason Bielawski, Aurora, IL, Christine Vickers, Aurora, IL and Rick Leos, Aurora, IL.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the term of Rick Leos shall expire on May 31, 2015; the terms of Jason Bielawski and Christine Vickers shall expire on May 31, 2016; and the term of Mavis Bates shall expire on May 31, 2017; however, in any event, the appointee shall serve until their respective replacement has been approved by the Council.
