I am forwarding to you a resolution which will appoint six members to the newly established "Sustainable Aurora" (The Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board).

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, "Sustainable Aurora" (The Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board) is newly established and in need of members; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, hereby approve the appointment of Charlie Zine, Aurora, IL, Caryl Riley, Aurora, IL, Lisa Cotner, Aurora, IL, Karen Wan, Aurora, IL, Bernina Perkins, Aurora, IL, and John O'Neill, Aurora, IL as members of "Sustainable Aurora" (The Mayor's Sustainable Aurora Advisory Board).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the terms of Caryl Riley and John O'Neill shall expire on May 31, 2015; the terms of Charlie Zine and Lisa Cotner shall expire on May 31, 2016 and the terms of Bernina Perkins and Karen Wan shall expire on May 31, 2017; however, in any event, the appointee shall serve until their respective replacement has been approved by the Council.
