A Resolution appointing Carol Tidwell to the Aurora Planning Commission.
DISCUSSION:
The Aurora Planning Commission (APC) is a thirteen (13) member commission comprised of At-Large Citizens and representatives of the following entities: Fox Valley Park District, Aurora Township, School Districts 129, 131 and 204 and the Sanitary District. The APC is tasked with hearing and reporting findings and providing recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on all applications for zoning amendments and special use permits.
Carol will fill a recently vacated position on the APC.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council approve the appointment of Carol Tidwell to the Aurora Planning Commission.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, the Aurora Planning Commission currently has a vacancy; and
WHEREAS, it is the Mayor's desire that the recommended candidate be appointed to said commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, hereby approve the appointment of Carol Tidwell, Aurora, IL to the Aurora Planning Commission.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the term of Carol Tidwell shall expire December 31, 2021, however, in any event, she shall continue to serve until her respective replacement has been approved by the Council.
