Requesting approval for Alpha Media LLC to have a Music Festival during their Cock-A-Doodle Festival Event on Saturday, October 8, 2016 to be held at Hollywood Casino Parking Lot, 201 N. River Street.
PURPOSE:
Alpha Media LLC will be holding their Cock-A-Doodle Brew Festival Event on October 8, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. As part of this festival, Alpha Media LLC would like to have live musical entertainment, which requires City Council's approval prior to the issuance of a permit.
BACKGROUND:
This will be their second event here in the City of Aurora. They have hired Lou Dog Productions to assist in the organization of this event. Lou Dog Production as extensive experience in producing brew festivals throughout the Chicago land area. Expected attendance is estimated at around 1,300.
DISCUSSION:
Alpha Media LLC has been working with the City Clerk's Office to ensure that all required documentation are met prior to the event. Alpha Media LLC has also submitted an application for an Assembly Operational Permit, and an inspection of the site will be conducted prior to the event.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, Alpha Media LLC will be holding their Cock-A-Doodle Brew Fest on Saturday, October 8, 2016 and has applied for a Music Festival permit in conjunction with their Summer Fest, with music being allowed from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.; and
WHEREAS, the organizers of this event have filed all appropriate documentations and paid all applicable fees required for the issuance of said permit, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 8-200, it is the desire of the City Council to approve the issuance of a music festival permit for the above mentioned event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, as follows: that a Music Festival permit be issued to Alpha Media LLC for the Cock-A-Doodle Brew Festival to be held at the Hollywood Casino Aurora Parking Lot, 201 N. River Street on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
