A resolution appointing one new member and reappointing three current members to the Civil Service Commission.
I am forwarding to you a resolution that appoints one new member and reappoints three current members to the Civil Service Commission.
Appoint to the Civil Service Commission:
Marge Linnane
Reappoint to the Civil Service Commission:
Judith Morrison
Leticia Morales-Perez
William Powell

A Resolution Appointing Marge Linnane and Reappointing Judith Morrison, Leticia Morales-Perez and William Powell to the Civil Service Commission.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, a vacancy exists on the Civil Service Commission and the terms of Judith Morrison, Leticia Morales-Perez and William Powell have expired; and
WHEREAS, WHEREAS, it is the Mayor's desire that the above candidates be appointed and reappointed to said Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, hereby approve the appointment of Marge Linnane, Aurora, IL and the reappointments of Judith Morrison, Aurora, IL, Leticia Morales-Perez, Aurora, IL and William Powell, Aurora, IL as members of the Civil Service Commission.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the terms of Marge Linnane, Judith Morrison, Leticia Morales-Perez and William Powell shall expire on June 30, 2016; however, in any event, the appointees shall serve until their respective replacements have been approved by the Council.
