Requesting approval for the Two Brothers Roundhouse to have a Music Festival during their Summer Festival Event on Friday June 26, 2015, Saturday June 27, 2015 and Sunday June 28, 2015, to be held at Two Brothers Roundhouse.
PURPOSE:
The Two Brothers Roundhouse is located at 205 N. Broadway, Aurora, IL and will be holding their Summer Festival Event from June 26 - 28, 2015. As part of this festival, the Two Brothers Roundhouse would like to have live musical entertainment, which requires City Council's approval prior to the issuance of a permit.
BACKGROUND:
The Two Brothers Summer Festival is a weekend long event. Two brothers first began holding a Summer Festival in Warrenville, IL seven (7) years ago. In 2012, the event was moved to the City of Aurora to allow for bigger name talent and greater attendance. If approved, this will be the Fourth consecutive year Aurora has opened its door to the festival.
DISCUSSION:
Two Brothers Roundhouse has been working with the City Clerk's Office to ensure that all required documentation are met prior to the event. The Two Brothers Roundhouse has also submitted an application for an Assembly Operational Permit, and an inspection of the site will be conducted prior to the event.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, Two Brothers will be holding their annual Summer Fest during the weekend of June 26, 27 and 28, 2015 and has applied for a Music Festival permit in conjunction with their Summer Fest, with music being allowed from 4:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015, 4:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. on Saturday June 27, 2015 and 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the organizers of this event have filed all appropriate documentations and paid all applicable fees required for the issuance of said permit, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 8-200, it is the desire of the City Council to approve the issuance of a music festival permit for the above mentioned event.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, as follows: that a Music Festival permit be issued to Two Brothers for the Summer Festival to be held at Two Brothers Roundhouse for Friday, June 26, from 3:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m., Saturday, June 27, from 3:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m., and Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
