PURPOSE:
The Petitioner, Mitutoyo America, has submitted a Final Plan Revision application for the property located at 965 Corporate Boulevard.  The details of the proposal include Final Plan on 18.14 acres for the construction of a parking lot and walking trail for overflow parking located at 965 Corporate Boulevard.   
 
BACKGROUND:
This is located in a business park along I-88 and Corporate Blvd. and is the headquarters for Mitutoyo America Corporation.  
 
DISCUSSION:
The petitioner is proposing a 48 space overflow parking lot and walking trail just to the east of the existing 254 car parking lot. This parking lot expansion will allow for parking for additional employees and customers.  
 
IMPACT STATEMENT:
This will expand an existing business and increase the City's overall tax base and not have any impact on City services.   
 
RECOMMENDATIONS:
ZBA recommended approval of the Final Plan Revision for a 48 space parking lot and walking trail at 965 Corporate Blvd. by Mitutoyo America.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
 
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
 
WHEREAS, by petition dated May 14, 2014, Mitutoyo America filed with the City of Aurora a request for a Final Plan Revision on 18.14 acres for the construction of a parking lot and walking trail for overflow parking located at 965 Corporate Boulevard for Lots 1 & 2 of Mitutoyo Subdivision as described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto; and
 
WHEREAS, said Final Plan was duly referred on May 27, 2014, by the Aurora City Clerk to the Aurora City Council, who, in turn, referred said Final Plan to the Aurora Planning Council and Aurora Planning Commission for study and recommendation, and to the Planning and Development Committee of the Aurora City Council for final decision; and
 
WHEREAS, said Final Plan has been determined to be in substantial conformance with the Aurora Municipal Code, Chapter 43 entitled "The Aurora Subdivision Control Ordinance" and with the "Aurora Zoning Ordinance" Number 3100 Sec. 10.6; and
 
WHEREAS, on July 8, 2014, the Aurora Planning Council recommended that said Final Plan be moved Forward for consideration; and
 
WHEREAS, on July 11, 2014, the Aurora Planning Commission reviewed said Final Plan and recommended Approval of said petition; and
 
WHEREAS, on July 24, 2014, the Planning and Development Committee of the Aurora City Council reviewed said Final Plan and before mentioned recommendations and recommended Approval of said petition; and   
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, grants Approval of said Final Plan as described on Exhibit "A".
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Aurora hereby adopts the Final Plan as described on Exhibit "A" along with any dedications deemed necessary by the Aurora City Engineer.
