A Resolution for Acceptance of the Underground Improvements and Maintenance Security for Verona Ridge Unit 4 - 15.100
PURPOSE:
To accept the Underground Public Improvements and Maintenance Security for Verona Ridge Unit 4.
BACKGROUND:
This development has completed all installations, inspections and submissions of the underground public improvements that make it eligible to be recommended for final acceptance of the underground improvements.
DISCUSSION:
The Subdivision Control Ordinance, upon the acceptance of the underground improvements by City Council, requires the posting of a security for said underground improvements for a one year maintenance period, and posting a new security for all remaining surface improvements.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
This action may add new public infrastructure /utilities to various divisions for maintenance, including streets, water, storm, sanitary, electrical, storm water management, fiber optic.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Approve the acceptance of the underground improvements and Maintenance Security, and posting a new security for all remaining surface improvements for Verona Ridge Unit 4.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, Taylor Morrison of Illinois, has completed the underground public improvements for said project; and
WHEREAS, these said improvements have been inspected during construction by the Engineering Department, or their authorized representative, and were found to be in substantial conformance with the approved plans; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has recommended acceptance of the underground improvements upon posting a Maintenance Security in the amount of $121,932.00, and the posting a new security for all remaining surface improvements in the amount of $171,692.75.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, as follows: that the acceptance of the underground improvements be approved upon receipt of a Maintenance Security in the amount of $121,932.00, and the posting of a new security for all remaining surface improvements in the amount of $171,692.75.
