DATE: April, 23 2025
SUBJECT:
A Resolution authorizing the purchase of one replacement Ford Hybrid Utility Police Interceptor from Currie Motors for $52,488.00.
PURPOSE:
To ensure that the Aurora Police Department has adequate equipment to perform their duties.
BACKGROUND:
Unit 36-151, a 2020 Ford Utility Police Interceptor was involved in an accident. The damage was assessed by the City's third-party adjuster CCMSI and was determined to be a total loss.
DISCUSSION:
The City of Aurora participates in the Suburban Purchasing Cooperative (SPC) for the purchase of replacement and additional vehicles. This program bids vehicles for purchase allowing the city to satisfy our own bidding process with less effort and using a greater purchasing power to get lower prices.
Currie Motors, located at 10125 W. Laraway Rd., Frankfort, IL 60423, is the approved Ford Police Interceptor Utility dealer under SPC contract #204.
Funding to satisfy the cost of the proposed vehicle will be drawn from the City's Property Claims Account 601-0000-410.40-76.
Currie Motors has no outstanding debt with the city.
IMPACT STATEMENT:
N/A
RECOMMENDATIONS:
That the City Council adopts a resolution to purchase the replacement police utility interceptor.
