A resolution Appointing Barbara Hernandez, Nestor Garcia, Ashley Martinez and Andrea Rios McMillian to the Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board.
I am forwarding to you a resolution that would appoint four new members to the Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board.
Appoint to the Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board:
Barbara Hernandez
Nestor Garcia
Ashley Martinez
Andrea Rios McMillian

A Resolution Appointing Barbara Hernandez, Nestor Garcia, Ashley Martinez and Andrea Rios McMillian to the Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, vacancies exist on the Aurora Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board; and
WHEREAS, it is the Mayor's desire that Barbara Hernandez, Nestor Garcia, Ashley Martinez and Andrea Rios McMillian be appointed to said Board.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, hereby approve the appointments of Barbara Hernandez, Aurora, IL, Nestor Garcia, Aurora, IL, Ashley Martinez, Aurora, IL and Andrea Rios McMillian, Aurora, IL as members of the Hispanic Heritage Advisory Board.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the terms of Barbara Hernandez, Nestor Garcia, Ashley Martinez and Andrea Rios McMillian shall expire on March 31, 2016, however, in any event, the appointees shall serve until their respective replacements have been approved by the Council.
