Resolution ratifying payment to A C Pavement Striping Company for material used in excess of $25,000 during the 2017 season by the Street Division.
PURPOSE:
To obtain council to pay for material in excess of $25,000 per the City's Purchasing Policies.
BACKGROUND:
The Street Division purchase's Thermo-Plastic material from A C Pavement Striping Company. This material is used for the restriping of the City streets.
DISCUSSION:
A purchase order was initially set up for less than $25,000 but as weather conditions continued to be very favorable for striping we are in need to ratify payment to A C Pavement Striping Company for material received.
Funding for the Materials is available in account 101-4460-431-65-20
IMPACT STATEMENT:
This ratification must be approved in order to ensure payments for material received to comply with City's policies.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
The City Council approves ratification of payment to A C Pavement Striping Company.

WHEREAS, the City of Aurora has a population of more than 25,000 persons and is, therefore, a home rule unit under subsection (a) of Section 6 of Article VII of the Illinois Constitution of 1970; and
WHEREAS, subject to said Section, a home rule unit may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs for the protection of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare; and
WHEREAS, the 2017 expenditures for Pavement Markings have exceeded the threshold requiring City Council approval; and
WHEREAS, the 2017 budget provides funding in account 101-4460-431-65-20, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Aurora, Illinois, as follows: the Director of Purchasing is hereby authorized to issue the orders to ratify payment to A C Pavement Striping Company for material received in excess of $25,000 during the 2017 season by the Street Division.
